Well, we were on course for a (relatively) smooth transition from the outgoing to the incoming US President until the FBI took a hand. The outcome is now very uncertain. What does this mean. Clinton was at least a "known entity" so it would be pretty much "business as usual". Trump on the other hand is "unknown" in political terms as he is not a politician. How would he behave and what would the consequences be for the markets and our investments. Nobody seems to know. This is similar to the UK where "Brexit means Brexit" except nobody knows what Brexit means. The US & UK indexes are close to their all time highs, the question is "will the results of the US election and Brexit encourage them higher" - nobody with any sense can make even an educated guess at this so we should just sit on our hands and wait. Sometimes doing nothing is the best investment.
