The Italian elections have allowed the markets to focus again on the Euro zone problems which have not gone away. Value investors will now be looking at the intrinsic value of each of their holdings to determine where this long market run up has taken them. Many who bought into good companies at cheap prices over the past 2/3 years will now be sitting on substantial gains. Always remember not to get too attached to the shares in your portfolio. If you bought them below value and they are now looking overvalued it might be time to move along. Plenty more undervalued businesses out there to invest in. The trick in all of this is to know when to sell which is not as easy as it might appear.
